WHAT YOU NEED TO FILM IN KENYA

Great! You just got your project greenlit. You’ll be filming in Kenya! Woohoo! But then it dawns on you. You don’t have any idea what the country is like, you have never been there, do they have cameras there? Do they have lights? Can you find hotels in that small town?

Not to worry, that’s what we are here for. In order to film in Kenya, it is required that you work with a locally registered Kenyan filming agent.

The agent will work with you to organize the below items well ahead of your arrival in to the country;

  1. Kenyan Film License

A license can only be issued through a registered filming agent. We will need a synopsis, script or treatment of your project, a list of any equipment you plan on bringing with you to the country, passport copies of incoming crew, filming locations and dates. After we receive all this information, it will take us about 2 days to get the permit issued.

  1. Work Permits / Business VISAs

Separate from the filming permit, all incoming crew are required to be issued with a work permit AND a business VISA. The documents presented for the film license will be sufficient to issue this as well.

  1. Logistics, Hotels, Travel & Crew

We will work with you to organize good hotels, plan all movements in advance and get you the best crew you need. Whether you just need a sound op or lighting & grips and ACs, we have you covered.
